Today I learned that perspective might vary depending on your ethnical background, gender, and religion. This factors might affect your judgement leading it to cloud your perspective. Although already knew this things, I got to listen other perspectives from my classmates. This help me to learn how to accept them and maybe try to understand them.
Today in class I learned about perspectives. I already knew what perspectives where, but I got to refresh my mind more about it. Everyone has their own point of view, opinion or thoughts about a topic. Coming up with different perspectives includes having empathy with others. I came up with different perspectives with my team for different topics, this was easy to do.
Alejandro Morales: Today I didn't exactly learn new stuff about perspectives but I got to know the perspectives of my classmates of a certain situation. I realized that my perspective is different from my classmates perspective. Sometimes perspectives are similar, and with each perspective we worked together to come up with one. I felt curious about coming up with different perspectives because it was interesting hearing different ways of thinkings from yours.
Today I got to hear different perspectives about gender equality. The most discuss lenses were economics, cultural, social, political and historical. I already knew what a perspective was but it was interesting to hear what my classmates think and compare how it was different from my opinion. I felt comfortable in my new group. I think that we will work really good through the year. My 2 team members are really intelligent and their opinions were really helpful.
Lorena: That the perspectives can be broken down into more perspectives. The thing with perspectives is that there can be millions of perspectives. For example, with the event that was discuss today that it can be points of view of doctors, workers, men, women, etc... I feel good about my team since we are every different people we have a lot of opinions.
Lidia: Today, I learned that each lense can be broken down into many different perspectives. I didn't quite understand the amount of perspectives there can be on a single topic. The idea with perspectives is to stop generalizing and to get the point of view of an individual person or group of people. I felt comfortable working with my team and I am confident that we will work well together because we all have different skills that will benefit the work.
Valeria: Before class I already knew what a perspective was but today in class I learned that there are multiple perspectives that can be generated within a lense. The type of perspective can vary, depending on the lense that you look at it through. The purpose of perspectives is to get all of the different points of view so we can fairly judge an argument. It was interesting coming up with different perspectives with my team because the four of us are very different so we had completely different ideas.
During class, we did an activity that helped us understand more about perspectives and lenses. Personally, I did not know the difference between perspective and lens clearly, but through the different activities that we did in our teams, I learned that perspectives can be broken down into lenses that can help the different people that argue understand perspectives in depth. I liked working with my team and I believe that if we continue working like we did today, we can achieve great things throughout the school year.
Emilio Perspectives have different aspects. Political and Historical, Cultural and Social, Economic, Ethical, and many others. Perspectives are different for each person, that means that in our team there would be differentI don't of perspectives depending the topic, but I am willing to hear all of this points of views and choose the best elaborated one of the team. I don't think that different perspectives would be a problem.
Julian G: Today in class I learned more information about perspectives and lenses. We did an activity which involved studying a certain topic and putting it through a lens, then stating all perspectives that could be found for that specific lens. We did this several times, each writing down new perspectives for the new lenses. Those included: Economic, Political and Historical, Futuristic, Social, and Scientific just to name a few. At first I struggled with the idea of signalling the perspectives, because I didn't know where to start and how to formulate them. Now I feel comfortable doing so, I also feel comfortable with my team. I enjoyed the way it planned out and hope to work well together.
