In my research of the Stimulus Package about intelligence, I hope to find more detailed information about what exactly is intelligence and how it can be measured. My research question was "What part of the brain is mostly tested in IQ tests and does this part of the brain determine if you are a genius or not?" With this research question, I will dive into the realms of the brain and how different parts of the brain make up our intelligence. Moreover, I hope to find if IQ tests really measure our cognitive skills and how the number that the test gives you tell us how intelligent we are. I hope to answer one of the questions that scientists have tried to answer.
When I perform my research of the stimulus package I hope to find more information regarding cognitive skills, I seek to find information about the factors that might increase it or decrease it. I will like to know what type of traumas such as war traumas affect a person's cognitive skills and how are they affected by this events of their past. Although I haven't found any of this information, I will proceed to perform a more detailed search on EBSCO to find this.
Lorena: My research question that I come up once I read The Stimulus Package is about how emotions affect the brain. I hope to find information about how different emotions help the brain retain more easily information or make it harder for the human. Also, different memories make emotions appear, and I know that the brain works and concentrates better when it's at a calm state. I want to know what happens when it is happy, sad, angry, etc... I hope EBSCO has that information.
The stimulus package had about five articles all related to the intelligence topic. Throughout the reading, I had a vast amount of questions that I wanted to research about. The research question I want to investigate more is the following: How can sleeping less than nine hours disturbs an adolescence intelligence negatively? By this research question I would like to investigate how adolecent people face the problem of sleeping less hours. Besides, I would like to know in what kind of activities do they loose their sleeping hours.
Julian Gonzalez: To me, the Stimulus Package was very interesting. I really liked its basis on intelligence, especially the first article. That is why I decided to research more on if human intelligence can actually be increased through various tests and tasks. I hope to find more studies such as the one presented in the article that showed how intelligence was trying to be increased. I would also like to find how IQ tests relate to intelligence and if they show improvement after certain activities. I hope I can find peer reviewed sources that contain this information.
Melissa: Our research is based on the Stimulus Package 2015. It included 5 articles all of them related to intelligence. I choose to focus on how intelligence is manipulated by nutrition. The Stimulus Package help us identify other activities and habits that could improve you intelligence and I am really looking forward to prove how nutrition has a lo to do with this topic as well. I hope to find many reliable source and I hope to do a better job than last time. I will like to accomplish proving myself that I can do a good report.
A little part of the stimulus package that was given to us talks about how many of the famous genius have shown signs of mental illness. I want to know if there is an actual relation between the two. With the little research that I did in class I found out that creative intelligence is link with certain mental illness. So, with my research I would like to further investigate the topic. Specially I would like to find reliable scientific studies that have done previous experiments with persons (with high intelligence) to see if they have any relation. I could also look into files of mentally illl facilities and see if they measure the creative intelligence of their patients. I am not sure but I will most likely only focus on one mental illness, schizophrenia.
First, we were asked to read the Stimulus Package that was made in 2015. In this Stimulus Package there were found 5 or 6 articles that all had a connection with intelligence and the use of the brain. This articles, in my opinion, were really interesting and clever. I hope that in this report time would not be a problem. I also hope to find reliable information for my research. In conclusion, I hope to do a much better job than last time.
After reading the stimulus package I drew conclusions among all of the information and came up with a research questions. My research question is: How does underage binge drinking affects the developing brain? I would like to understand in a scientific approach how does alcohol affects the brain, but specially in teenagers. I will research how does drinking at the teenage years affects the brain in adulthood and how does it affects in the short term.
Lidia Sarmiento: When I was reading the Stimulus Package, I couldn't stop thinking about the arts, and how the connect to someone's IQ. This is a question that I know can be answered with extensive research, and that is why I chose to use that topic for my research question. "How does the involvement in artistic fields increase the IQ of a teenager?" Using this question, I will write an Individual Research Report in which I will investigate the effects that artistic activities bring on a teenager's IQ. These include dancing, painting, playing and instrument and singing. I hope to find reliable sources that will provide relevant information for my report.
